Our timber has dry rot/decayed timber around the roller fixing which is causing issues with opening/closing the door. I’m looking for someone to carry out a temporary functional repair so the existing roller can be securely mounted and the door can be rehung and used while I arrange a proper timber repair/rebuild. Scope of work: Remove loose and obviously rotten/soft timber from around the bottom corner and roller fixing. Reinforce/fill the damaged area using a suitable two-part structural epoxy putty/repair compound (e.g. Selleys Knead-It, Turbo Builder's Bog or similar). Create a sufficiently solid fixing for the existing roller carriage, using the existing roller if it is serviceable. Ensure the roller is positioned at the correct height and alignment. Take care to keep the moving wheel/mechanism free of epoxy. Once cured, rehang the door onto the existing track. Adjust the roller so the door slides reasonably smoothly and is stable in operation. This is only intended as a short-term repair, not a permanent restoration of the rotten timber. The existing glass is to remain in the door. Please bring your own suitable epoxy/repair compound and basic hand tools. Photos of the door and damaged area are attached. Please review these before making an offer. Ideally looking for someone comfortable with timber repairs/carpentry and sliding door hardware who can assess the damage and use the most appropriate method to achieve a safe, functional temporary repair.

TWO JOBS FOR A SKILLED HANDYMAN Task 1 - Attach two small mirrors to rear side of wardrobe doors. The 2 mirrors were removed for painting and now need to be reattached. Task 2 - Re-install 2 wardrobe sliding doors. They were removed for paint works and carpet installation. The floor rail / bracket needs to be raised, possibly with a strip of aluminium or a piece of 16mm melamine ply, as I have shown in the photo. I have provided a photo of the actual mirror sliding doors, pictured leaning against the wall in the bathroom. Location is an Apartment on St Kilda Road Melbourne 3004. I have a ceiling fan with a glass light cover that I’m trying to remove, but it seems to be screwed on very tightly. I’ve tried carefully unscrewing it myself but don’t want to force it and risk breaking the glass or damaging the fitting. Looking for someone to come and safely loosen and remove the glass cover. It should hopefully be a very quick/simple job with the right technique or tools. No electrical work is required — just removing the stuck glass cover. Located in Richmond. Job includes: * Repair a small dent/hole in the plaster wall caused by the door * Patch and finish the area neatly so it blends with the existing white wall * Reinstall the existing door stopper, which has pulled away from the skirting board * I still have the original door stopper and it appears to be intact Would ideally like someone experienced with plaster repairs who can leave a clean, professional finish suitable for an end-of-lease inspection.
