The system is a large, heavy, turf-covered platform that slides horizontally over the swimming pool. It is driven by an older BFT sliding-gate motor with a rack-and-pinion mechanism. The platform previously operated properly. It now requires manual assistance to move, and the toothed rack appears to slip or lose engagement with the pinion in some sections. We have already adjusted/tightened parts of the rack but this did not resolve the underlying issue. We need someone able to assess the complete system, including: - Rack-and-pinion engagement and alignment - Rack mounting and joins - Platform wheels, rollers, tracks and rolling resistance - Whether the platform or frame is dragging or out of alignment - Motor, gearbox and electrical condition - Whether the existing motor is correctly mounted and remains suitable Photos of the platform, motor, rack and access are attached. The listed budget is for an onsite inspection, clear diagnosis and minor adjustment if possible. Any significant fabrication, replacement motor or parts can be quoted separately once the cause is established.
