I need help repairing a broken screw that’s attached to a circular metal plate. This plate was originally manufactured with the screw pre-installed, but the screw has snapped in half. The broken section is still embedded in the plate, while the other half is separate but available. Would it be possible to weld the broken screw back together and restore the threading? If not, I’d appreciate your advice on whether the best option is to drill out the remaining part and install a replacement screw instead.
