The flat’s heating circuit should be capable of being isolated from the communal system – this has been done by previous engineers. I would therefore like the engineer to identify and close the appropriate isolation valves before the communal system is refilled. For all radiators, I would like: • Individual flushing/cleaning to remove sludge, magnetite and debris, removing and flushing radiators where appropriate • General inspection for corrosion or leaks • TRVs and lockshield valves checked for correct operation/seizing • Valves, tails, connections and fittings checked and replaced where necessary • Bleed valves/vents checked • Any other sensible preventative maintenance while the system is drained • The flat/radiator circuit appropriately isolated and left safe before the communal system is refilled • Once appropriate, the radiators refilled, vented and checked for leaks and correct operation This is a communal heating system, so I am not requesting a powerflush or chemical treatment of the whole building system. Quite a simple job, as I was cleaning the kitchen sink, the plughole dosen't seem to attach to the drain anymore, I think it's just because the filaments got used in time. And as we're doing this I was thinking to might as well do a cleaning of the sink unit. There is a hardware store 2 mins from my building in case we need replacements.
