I am a tenant in a very old place and the gas inspector has picked on this, which has the landlord stressed and upset (I try to fix what I can around here due to the situation so that I can stay here) ... was told that bracing it against the wall would be enough, so the flue can't move away from the exhaust on the top of the unit) but let me check on that (may need poles on the roof also? ... or maybe you have knowledge about that in terms of requirements ... it can be really rough and ready so long as they approve it.
