Looking for an experienced handyman or carpenter to replace the damaged roofing over a covered side pathway at our house in Hawthorn. The existing roofing is old, leaking and partially collapsed in sections. We are looking for a practical, cost-effective solution rather than a premium rebuild. Scope of works: • Remove and dispose of existing roofing materials
• Inspect timber framing and advise if any sections require replacement
• Replace any minor damaged timber as required
• Supply and install new roofing materials (please include materials in your quote)
• Ensure roof is securely fixed and weatherproof
• Leave site clean and tidy upon completion We are open to recommendations on the most economical roofing option, however clear or lightly tinted polycarbonate roofing would likely be suitable. Please include in your quote:
• Labour and materials
• Any disposal costs
• Estimated timeframe
• Photos/examples of similar work if available Photos attached. Preference will be given to practical, budget-conscious solutions that provide a safe and durable outcome without overcapitalising on the space. Happy for interested Airtaskers to inspect before quoting.

We have just noticed a roof leak that has caused water damage to the internal plaster/ceiling in our bathroom. We are looking for an experienced tradie to fix both issues, ideally the same person for both jobs. Job 1 – Roof tile repair: Existing roof tiles are old but in reasonable condition. Water is leaking through and we need the source identified and fixed. We have spare matching roof tiles on site, so no need to source new ones. Please inspect, replace/re-bed any cracked or displaced tiles, and check flashing/pointing as needed. Job 2 – Internal plaster repair (bathroom ceiling): Water damage is showing through the plaster inside the bathroom Area will need to be assessed, replastered and made good Please include prep and finish in your quote (including for painting) Photos attached — please review before quoting. Or let me if you'd like to visit to quote. Experience with tiled roof repairs and plaster/ceiling repair Ability to do both jobs in one visit (preferred) Please provide a breakdown of cost for each part of the job Fully equipped with own tools; tiles are on site.
