Flooring Transition / Metal Trim Installation Looking for someone experienced with flooring to tidy up the transition at the entrance to my apartment, where the timber flooring meets the carpeted corridor outside. The two surfaces are at slightly different heights, so I’m looking to have a suitable metal transition/reducer trim installed to create a neat, secure and tapered finish between the timber and carpet. The trim may need to be cut to size and fixed into the timber flooring, but happy for you to recommend the most appropriate solution once you’ve seen it. Ideally looking for someone who can supply the appropriate trim as well as install it.

We are looking for an experienced flooring installer/handyman to repair a section of laminate/timber-look flooring near an internal doorway. As shown in the attached photos, several floorboards have shifted and separated, leaving noticeable gaps between the boards, particularly around the doorway and transition strip. The task will involve: * Inspecting the affected flooring and identifying why the boards have moved/separated. * Carefully lifting and repositioning/re-laying the affected boards where possible. * Closing the visible gaps and ensuring the boards sit securely and evenly. * Cutting or adjusting boards around the door jamb if required. * Checking that an appropriate expansion gap has been allowed around the perimeter. * Reinstalling/securing the transition strip where necessary. * Advising us if any damaged boards need replacement rather than re-use. * Leaving the area neat and presentable once completed. * We don’t have spare flooring. Important: If possible, we would prefer the existing flooring to be retained and repaired where possible rather than replacing the entire floor. I had engineered timber flooring (floating floors) put into my two-bedroom apartment about six years ago. In the summer it lays flat, but in winter when I'm running the heat it swells up and creates hill-like bumps in the floor in several places.
