I would like a plumber to disconnect and cap off our water taps in the kitchen and laundry, in preparation for removal of old kitchen cabinets. I also need the gas line for the gas stove to be capped off ready for kitchen cabinets to be removed.

Here is the detailed report on the problem written by a plumber who attended the site and gave an exorbitant cost estimate.. *** We have today attended the property and have inspected the high-water usage and have found there to be a leaking shower from the taps. Upon disconnecting the tapware, we have checked the inwall brass breach and have found there to be a large crack within the seat of the breach. This has been cut back as far as possible and we have installed speciality seats in an attempt to rectify. It has significantly improved the leak, though there is still a very minor drip from the tap. The only way to rectify this will be to remove the tiles from the wall and remove the breach all together for replacement, upon repairs we will then have our tiler attend and re-tile the wall. The cost for these works will be a budget estimate of $###.00 inc gst including the tiling works. Please let me know if the owner would like a full quotation for the works.

hot water has low pressure

The hot water pressure in my shower is weak (about 1/3 the strength of the cold). The hot water at the sinks is perfectly fine, so the issue is likely sediment clogging the shower's mixing valve cartridge. I need a plumber or experienced handyman to: 1. Isolate the water supply. 2. Remove the shower handle and trim plate. 3. Pull the mixing cartridge and clean the debris from the screens. 4. Reassemble and test (or advise if a replacement cartridge needs to be purchased). Location: Carnegie, VIC 3163 Tools/Parts: Please bring your own tools (Allen keys, adjustable wrenches, etc.). If we discover the cartridge is broken and needs replacing, I will pay for the cost of the new part separately.
