Electric blind not working

I just assembled a new ebike - U4 Isinwheel . I believe I may have assembled it incorrectly because the front brake does not seem to function properly. It does not brake at all.

We would like to install two window blinds. One in the home office and the second in the bedroom. The windows look like this -> Photo attached. Thank you!
