Having just removed carpet, I’ll need someone to scrape back the underlay and remove orange rubber that’s stuck. There is staples to remove and also small nails in certain areas. I need the carpet and carpet underlay removed from a room which is about 3m x 5 m. There is an underlay which is stuck down onto the wooden floorboards underneath (see pics). It’s stuck to the floor with a kind of sticky black foamy substance. I tried getting the underlay and the black foamy substance off and it came off with a scraper. Pouring boiling water and soap onto it first helped to soften it. A machine would make it much quicker but it could be done by hand. Underneath are sanded and varnished floorboards. So what I want is to remove the carpet, remove the underlay, and remove all the black foam that is stuck to the boards, then clean the floor so it's not sticky or dirty (Orange cleaner worked best for this) so that it will just be clean wooden floorboards remaining. All of the black sticky foam must be completely removed and disposed of. It's in an upstairs unit, it's a rental property. It must be done till the floorboards are perfectly clean and all the black foam underlay is removed. Please be careful not to scratch the floorboards. My cat has scratched up the carpet on two of the stairs in the place I rent. I’m about to move out and need it replaced,there is a roll of the original carpet here that can be used.
