The top LHS engine mount broke (in the picture of same engine block I found online the boxed 3 bolt threads just sheared off leaving that flat area). Re-drilling and tapping even a helicoil has not worked out well. Access from top of engine is easy it is right there and there is space. In the other picture the mount is bolted on, but since then the two holes failed. I'm thinking that a pre-drilled and tapped aluminium plate 10mm thick, or a bracket, could be welded onto the area in-situ, to allow strong re-attachment options. See the pictures. This is a Hail Mary request to see if someone handy who can see a solution with an alu Tig welder might be up for it. The car is probably worth $1000 without a broken mount, and $250 at a wrecker. So is the fate of this car the junkyard or not? Price here I entered just to enter one. would figure out actual damage in person. Also, I don't have an aluminium plate ready, nor can I drill and tap one myself. Car is drivable! so I can drive somewhere in Sydney area to bring this headache to you.
