Hi, There is a leak coming from the balcony into the ceiling of the bedroom underneath. We have had the balcony retiled and rewaterproofed (since the membrane was broken), and this has caused the leak to become significantly worse, as the water is now flowing directly into the bedroom underneath when it rains. The leak appears to be coming from underneath the sliding doors leading to the balcony, as when rain hits the glass and trickles down, water enters through the area underneath the sliding doors, which wasn't properly waterproofed. The sliding doors will likely need to be removed, the area underneath rewaterproofed, and the doors reinstalled. The sliding doors are approximately 3.5 metres wide. We are looking for someone with experience in this type of work to inspect the issue as soon as possible and provide a quote for the waterproofing repairs and replastering of the ceiling in the bedroom underneath. This is an older tiled-roof house in the Box Hill South area, built in the 1960s. During rain, we can hear water dripping inside the roof/ceiling cavity above one room, although there is currently no visible water leak through the ceiling. There is also an existing crack in the ceiling underneath the area. The back section of the house is a flat roof and will require an extension ladder to get up there.
