The bottom stairwell of our building has a leak which is causing the carpet to rot. The landlord won’t fix the leak so we’d at least like to remove the carpet where the water comes in. The area is small and has some stairs going down to the basement that need the carpet removed too. Not sure what is under the carpet but assume cement. It just needs to be tidied up enough to look presentable.

* This is a repost as previous task was expired Remove and dispose wall plaster, insulation and carpet There was a bad rainwater leak in my bedroom which made the plaster wall and carpet wet. They are now dry. I want to remove the wall plaster, insulation batts and portion of the carpet and underlay, so that I can inspect for mould and put in new insulation batts, plaster wall and carpet afterwards. Its only one side of the wall in the bedroom. The wall has a window. Size of the wall is 266cm x 480cm. Size of the window is 270cm x 112cm. See attached photos. I'm thinking the areas where there are electrical, phone outlets, and connection to aircon, to leave the wall plaster around them as it is and not remove it. Maybe like a 10-20cm margin. Bedroom is on the 3rd floor in a small townhouse. For the carpet, remove the carpet and carpet underlay about 50cm away from the wall, for the entire length of the wall You need to provide dropsheets to cover the bed and the floor, as well as a proper cover for the aircon. We have a hardwood floor which is nailed to an underfloor system made up of f5 pine 70×35 studs, fixed to concrete slab. We have around 5 points on the floor where the boards are squeaking and we need them repaired so the squeak is gone. We will only hire someone who has experience with this specific work before.
