I have a plank of wood that needs cut, and this will make up the two shelves that are needed. I would like it to be done using battens - I don’t have the wood but can source.

We are looking for someone to build a shelf for us in our living room. We would like the wood to be dark (look similar to walnut ideally, but depends on costs) and the measurements 3.2x1.2x0.36 with two or three closed door cabinets at the bottom.

I recently fitted a new 60/40 fridge freezer. The old doors were for a 50/50 split, so they don't fit the new fridge. This was a big mistake, because i can't find any doors to fit the cabinet and need to solve this problem before a new tenancy starts in May. Since I will never get ones to match perfectly, my idea is to make 2 doors from standard wood and paint them with black board paint so that it can be used for writing on. One solution is to make these yourself, the other is to buy some generic doors from B&Q, and paint them with the blackboard paint. The challenge for me is that i am organizing this remotely and I cannot visit B&Q myself.
