Strip, sand and stain timbers flooring

$2,500

Darlington NSW, Australia

24th Oct 2020

Existing floor boards are a strong golden colour (pics below). I’d like to create more of a pale lime wash / whitewash colour. But if this is unachievable with the existing floor colour then go to darker stain. Area is approximately 70sqm (two bedrooms, living, dining, hallway). Pictures of existing. Flexible with time/dates.

Build and Install Wooden Floating Shelf

$250

Erskineville NSW, Australia

6th Jun 2020

Hi, We are looking for someone to build and install an (ideally) floating, wooden shelf in out bedroom. Shelf Specifications: - The shelf should be the width of the queen bed (i.e. 153cm) - Depth and height can be discussed based on structural need / what makes sense - We are looking for a material to match the room. We have Mango wood side tables (see pictures below), but open to alternative woods that could work alongside this - We would be looking to have some small plant pots and maybe a frame of two on the shelf. - We are in a unit - so the walls are made of plasterboard Installation - We would be looking for someone to have the materials and tools to install this securely to the plasterboard - We are not in a rush so can be flexible on timing - ideally installation could happen on a weekend We would be looking for a quote for sourcing materials, building the shelf and full installation at our place. Open to discuss costings based on materials and design. Thanks!

Carpenter to build window seat with drawers

$750

Erskineville NSW, Australia

25th May 2020

I’m looking for a carpenter to build a window seat with drawers underneath. It would run the length of the room (3.4m) underneath the window - just a simple rectangular bench really but with about 4x big drawers for storage. You’ll need to have all tools/equipment and an idea of what/how to build it. Payment is for labor, time and equipment. I’ll pay for materials once we decide (I.e. you tell me) what we need. First photo is the space I want the window seat built in. All other photos are ideas only - I’m open to suggestions.

Bradley was great - super friendly and happy to give advice and suggestions to meet our needs. He built a window seat in our old (and wonky-walled) house that fits beautifully and does exactly what we need it to. Bradly was committed to getting the job done even when things didn't go to plan - job well done. Thanks!

Build frame for trapeze bar

$250

Erskineville NSW, Australia

29th Apr 2020

Trying to find somewhere to hang our static trapeze bar during lockdown, and hoping that someone could build a sturdy frame for us in our Erskineville front courtyard (if I do a lot of tree-trimming). The space is approx 165 wide by 280 long (would need to be able to swing lengthways) and I was hoping for something ca.3.4 m high.

Repair of two Arne Jacobsen wooden chairs

$60

Erskineville NSW, Australia

12th Oct 2020

I need someone with some carpentry or furniture repair experience to repair two Arne Jacobsen chairs whose wooden seats have become removed from the metal bases. I have tried to superglue these previously but it hasn't worked in securing them. I think the existing dried glue needs to be removed with solvent and then some alternative solution found to fix the seat to the base. I'd welcome your help!

I need built in wardrobe

$3,000

Erskineville NSW, Australia

10th Jul 2020

I’m looking to get a builtin for a bedroom (possibly 2, budget dependent! The bedroom is 3.4x3.7m so probably sliding doors are necessary?? The approx size of the wardrobe needed is 2200w and approx 610 deep due to a window frame. I hope that’s deep enough? I’m looking for a classic white look - shaker/hamptons style. Also looking for a bulkhead above as the ceiling height is high. Thanks Sophie

Customise old wardrobe...?

$120

Erskineville, NSW

23rd Jun 2020

So! I bought a wardrobe on eBay that won’t actually fit into my doorway from the narrow hallway. Wondering if anyone handy is able to pull it apart and reassemble it in the room? I’ve no wood working idea - it may not be possible - but it’s a pretty old thing and I’d like to try. Happy to give better details and photos over the phone if anyone is actually interested in this.

Build some floating book shelves for our home

$1,000

Erskineville NSW, Australia

25th May 2020

We would like to have a carpenter help us build some shelves in our home. There are two parts to this job: 1. Three floating bookshelves in living room (replacing existing wooden shelves - see picture below) 130cm wide 2-4cm thick 29cm depth 35 cm spacing between each shelf The wall is quite thin - dry wall I think. 2. One simple floating shelf above desk (see pic below) 171cm wide 13cm deep 2-3cm thick For this shelf, I believe the wall might be brick. Thicker and more solid than the wall for the bookshelves For both of these shelves we are open to different options for material but they need to be white. If in your response you share 1 or 2 options on material and the corresponding price. Also we need to drill 6 holes in two other locations so we can install a bin and a display board, this should only take 5 minutes or so - but wanted to add this on.

A big fan of Terry. Highly professional, reliable and trustworthy. Excellent work - tailored to our needs. Can’t recommend enough.

Fixing kitchen drawer

$150

Erskineville NSW 2043, Australia

24th Oct 2020

Our kitchen drawer has broken and requires someone to work their magic. The drawer broke at the metal part screwed on to the front of the drawer. We purchased what was the closest match we could find and re attached it but it doesn’t quite fit, causing the drawer not being able to close. Unsure on best solution here, so would like people to advise best repair method and price. Would love someone to come tomorrow if available.

Clever Carpenter DIY Wainscotting/Wall Panel

$150

Erskineville NSW, Australia

15th Jul 2020

I am looking for a crafty carpenter who can create a wall panel effect in my hallway. Please see the photos I have attached. The total wall length is 1076 cm The height of the wall is 270cm and then drops to 254 cm I am taking best offers for this task can you please quote on; Half wall (picture 1) Full Wall (Picture 2) Actual wall is picture 3 It's a completely straight wall which makes it a less labour intensive job. I've priced up how to do this myself, using trim from Bunnings I just don't have the patience :) I want to start with this one wall (full or half dependent on cost) but if it works well would like the rest of the downstairs, stairs and hallway undertaken. I run 50+ Airbnb properties and I am always looking for reliable skilled and consistent handymen/carpenters. Happy to meet onsite for accurate quote.
