I need to change the battery in a smoke alarm that is at the top of a vaulted ceiling. It's about 5m high in the middle of the room, so you will need a very tall A frame ladder that can be used without a wall to support it. The flat is also empty so there is nothing else to stand on / assist. I am pretty sure that it needs a 9 volt battery as I've changed another in the same room in the past, but if it can't be replaced immediately I just need to ensure that it stops beeping constantly while we sort out a replacement.
