I fixed some MDF shelves to the living room wall using standard brackets, screws and plugs. Unfortunately the wall is old and the brickwork is crumbly so the screws didn’t hold. I am looking for a solution - I’m guessing something like a fixing the shelves to a wooden brace or similar to give them strength and avoid them falling out again.
