I am looking for an experienced handyman or carpenter to help finish off the wall and framing around a recently installed door. There are a few specific tasks required to make the area look seamless and finished on the inside. Tasks include: 1. Adjusting Metal Casing: There is a metal track/casing housing a garage door weight that sticks out too far. This needs to be shaved down or pushed in so it doesn't protrude. 2. MDF Extension: Once the casing is adjusted, I need MDF installed to extend the wall to the new door frame. This MDF needs to run all the way from the top down to the floor. 3. Adding Insulation: There is an exposed cavity at the top of the door frame that is missing insulation. Insulation needs to be inserted into this top gap. 4. Gap Filling: All remaining gaps along the top and the side between the new door frame and the wall need to be filled in completely. 5. Skirting Board Touch-up: The baseboard/skirting on the adjacent wall near the floor is messy. This small section needs to be replaced or sanded and painted to look clean. 6. Painting: After all the construction is complete, the new MDF extension and all patched/filled areas need to be primed and painted to match the existing wall color and finish seamlessly. Notes: - There are some exposed cables/wires that need to be safely tucked into the cavity behind the new MDF. - Offer should include all materials, labour to complete the job. I am looking for someone with specific experience in timber deck maintenance and oiling (not just a general handyman) to perform some routine upkeep on my roof deck. Deck Size: 3.8m x 4.8m (approx. 18.2m²) Please see the attached photo for reference. Scope of Work: 1. Clear the deck: Move pots, outdoor furniture, firewood, and other items off the surface. 2. Deep clean: Thoroughly sweep and wash the deck (including between the boards) using a specialized, appropriate timber/deck cleaner. 3. Inspect and prep: Check for minor issues like rough areas, splinters, or raised screws and address them. Lightly spot-sand any areas that need it (a full sand is not required unless you deem it absolutely necessary). 4. Oil/Stain: Apply the appropriate number of coats (likely two) of an outdoor decking oil or stain to restore and protect the timber. The goal is to match the existing treatment. 5. Pot risers: Supply and place small pot feet/risers underneath the larger pots to prevent them from sitting directly on the wood and trapping moisture. 6. Pack up: Once the deck is completely dry, put all the furniture, firewood, and pots back in their original places. Important Quote Requirements: 1. Front of house: about 10m of gutter, accessed by getting on verandah via ladder. West side of house: about 15m of gutter hanging off pitched roof, 5-6m off ground (best cleaned while standing on ladder). East side of house: only 2m of gutter over a courtyard, single storey, accessible by ladder. Back of house: about 10m of gutter hanging off flat roof on 2nd storey (easy ladder access to 2nd storey via 1st storey landing). If job done well, I need this done 3 times a year.
