I have a number of outdated existing light fittings in my office. I would like to replace these. 6 wall mounted lights 4 down lights. I have the new items ready to go, and existing in wiring is in place. They just need fixing.

The power cord on a lamp has come loose at the switch and the ends have come out. It’s unclear to me if it can be repaired or if the coordinator needs to be replaced but ideally it’s just some very minor electrical work.

I bought this lamp in America and it's been used almost every day for six years. I've changed the bulbs once, after one got damaged in a move. I discovered this may have been quite dangerous, and supposedly the key danger point would be the electronics in the dimmer. It’s a modern lamp (from ~2019), inline dimmer in the cord, the wiring runs ~150cm through the pole of the lamp, the top unscrews, and there's two 90-degree sockets (photos attached). From what I understand, the main thing is the inline foot dimmer has to go completely. It's a 120V part and it's been sitting on 240V, so I just want it out of the circuit entirely. I'm fine for the lamp to just be on/off - no dimming. Though if the cost of a new dimmer would be immaterial, then happy to have another one. I leave the dimmer with maximum light because it’s always been a bit dim (perhaps because of the voltage), but it could just be the bulbs I’ve used. The light quality is actually perfect at present. I reckon the plan would be something like this: cut off the whole existing cord and dimmer, open up the top where the two sockets are, and test the internal wire that runs up the pole to see if the insulation is still sound. If it is just hook up a new black Australian cord and plug at the base (please note the photo of where it exits the pole). If the insulation’s stuffed it may need a new wire. I don't think it needs new sockets, the bulbs currently in use are 220 volt and working fine. Please quote for job and parts. Changing light bulbs for the whole unit, must have ladder and experiences

One of the protected power switches was triggered yesterday. I have unplugged all devices from the wall sockets and even switched each socket off manually in the affected rooms but I cannot switch the protected power switch back on. For context there may be a socket that has been affected in the wall by all the rain recently as this impacted a light switch in our wall about 2 years ago.. Need someone who can come out to Newtown to fix this afternoon. 4pm or later. Thanks.

I need an electrician. The pendant light in the house was originally a 12V system, but due to issues with the LED light tubes, we replaced it with a new pendant light that needs to be connected directly to a 240V power supply. However, we discovered that the wiring coming down from the ceiling is already converted to 12V, so it is likely connected to a transformer somewhere in the circuit. The problem is that we have no idea where the transformer is located. We therefore need an electrician to investigate and resolve the issue.

There is already an internal powerpoint located directly on the inside wall, which is connected to the existing AC circuit, so I believe the new outlet can likely be run from there. We live in a 3 story mini terrace home. The middle floor was originally 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a toilet room. We have now knocked down the wall between the two bedrooms to make it into one master bedroom. Before the wall came down, each of the 2 bedrooms had a PowerPoint and a ceiling fan with light (both have stopped working and replacements have been purchased. We need a licensed electrician to help install the replacement ceiling fans, and help move the existing PowerPoints a few meters away to the now adjoining wall. We would also like 1 new Power point installed on the ceiling to power a ceiling mounted projector, this isn’t essential and is dependant on cost.
