I have had a technician look at this and the technician has advised that the dryer's door assembly is broken and needs to be replaced. he said get a new dryer and quoted $700-880

Remove old Miele washing machine which has a Miele Dryer installed on top of it. The dryer is fixed onto a bracket which is affixed to the top of the washing machine. Replace with another Miele washing machine which needs to be brought up one level from downstairs. This is a two level apartment. Once the replacement washing machine is installed,The dryer will need to be installed back on top of the washing machine.

Install a condenser dryer using the stacking kit on top of the washing machine. 4. Connect the drain pipe from the condenser dryer to the laundry tub. 5. Take away the old vented dryer and dispose of it legally. The condenser dryer will have been delivered and available at floor height - it will need to be lifted and installed with two people due to the weight. I am not able to assist.

Transport Miele washer and dryer from Glebe to Surry Hills (15 mins, 4.3km). Washer and dryer are in garage, easy access and not connected to the plumbing. Move into apartment via lift.
