I need a lamp rewired to Australian electrical standards. This first job is for one lamp, but I make these regularly, so this could turn into ongoing work if we’re a good fit. Also keen for your advice on best quality certified components, sockets, switches, and especially fabric or rope woven cords in specific colours, that are legal here and look good. Happy to answer questions, feel free to ask before quoting.

I bought this lamp in America and it's been used almost every day for six years. I've changed the bulbs once, after one got damaged in a move. I discovered this may have been quite dangerous, and supposedly the key danger point would be the electronics in the dimmer. It’s a modern lamp (from ~2019), inline dimmer in the cord, the wiring runs ~150cm through the pole of the lamp, the top unscrews, and there's two 90-degree sockets (photos attached). From what I understand, the main thing is the inline foot dimmer has to go completely. It's a 120V part and it's been sitting on 240V, so I just want it out of the circuit entirely. I'm fine for the lamp to just be on/off - no dimming. Though if the cost of a new dimmer would be immaterial, then happy to have another one. I leave the dimmer with maximum light because it’s always been a bit dim (perhaps because of the voltage), but it could just be the bulbs I’ve used. The light quality is actually perfect at present. I reckon the plan would be something like this: cut off the whole existing cord and dimmer, open up the top where the two sockets are, and test the internal wire that runs up the pole to see if the insulation is still sound. If it is just hook up a new black Australian cord and plug at the base (please note the photo of where it exits the pole). If the insulation’s stuffed it may need a new wire. I don't think it needs new sockets, the bulbs currently in use are 220 volt and working fine. Please quote for job and parts. I bought this table lamp in Japan but seems like that needs the socket replaced from 100V to 240V and a new Australian plug fitted.

Current wiring in lamp has always been faulty light would flicker and would have to adjust cord to get it to stay on but it eventually stopped working altogether. Would like the lamp rewired.
