Internal door won’t latch shut – strike plate/alignment issue I have an internal bedroom door with a Glutz latch which has suddenly stopped closing properly. The latch itself appears to be working and lines up vertically, but it is not engaging/clicking into the strike plate on the door frame. I believe the strike plate or door alignment needs adjusting slightly, possibly by repositioning the plate, enlarging the opening behind it, or making a minor hinge adjustment. Looking for someone experienced with door furniture/locks to diagnose and fix it neatly, ideally without replacing the existing lock mechanism unless genuinely necessary. Should be a relatively small job. Photos available.

We've had a new uPVC back door fitted and the internal reveals have been left unfinished: exposed brick, old timber and expanding foam on both sides and across the top. Looking for someone to make good all three reveals so they're ready to paint. Scope: • Remove any loose material, trim excess expanding foam • Board the reveals (plasterboard dot-and-dab or bonding coat, whichever suits) with angle beads on the external corners • Skim finish to a smooth, paint-ready surface, neatly meeting the door frame and existing wall • Once dry, run a neat bead of paintable caulk between the plaster and the door frame • Tidy up and take away all waste Please bring all materials and tools. 1930s house with original internal doors that will be kept. Hardware has been painted over multiple times so screw heads will likely need scoring out with a blade or knife before they’ll turn — not just a straightforward unscrew. Please bring a multi-tool/utility knife for this. I need one internal door shortening. I got a new carpet recently and the door no longer clears the floor. It just needs a slight trim. The door has been removed so would want it then putting back on the hinges.

To fit a night latch to an internal door and to fit a handle on another door

I'm looking for someone to hang an internal door to our utility room. The door and all necessary hardware will be supplied. The door frame has not had a door on it previously so will need door jams fitted. Painting afterwards is not required. The door frame is 760mm wide. Please see attached photographs for more details. I have 7 internal doors. Several of them don't close properly, and some are quite noisy when opening/ closing. I need an experienced handyman/ door specialist to inspect all 7 doors and fix/ adjust them as far as reasonably possible without replacing the doors themselves. What I need: - Inspect all doors, hinges, frames, latches and strike/ keep plates - Identify why some doors aren't closing properly - Adjust hinges, door alignment, latches and/ or keeps as necessary - Lubricate mechanisms where appropriate - Make the doors close properly and smoothly, with minimal force - Reduce the noise from the doors closing as much as reasonably possible. - Check whether the existing mortice locks/ latches are worn and whether they need adjustment or replacement - Advise me whether replacing the existing handles would make any meaningful difference Important: I don't want the doors themselves replaced. Minor adjustments, hinge/ keep adjustments, lubrication and reasonable minor repairs are fine. Please discuss with me before carrying out any significant carpentry or replacing lock mechanisms. I would ideally like the inspection and the necessary adjustment/ repair work to be completed during the same visit. Please only apply if you have experience with internal doors, mortice locks/ latches and door alignment, and can diagnose why doors aren't closing properly rather than simply replacing the handles.

A small job for an experienced carpenter/joiner to hang a new internal door. The door has already been planed to size and fits the opening, so won’t need any resizing or trimming. I just need someone to: * Fit and recess the hinges into the door and frame. * Hang the door so it is straight, flush and operates smoothly with even gaps. * Fit a pull handle to the door (pull handle only – no latch or lock mechanism). The frame is already in place, and the door is ready to be hung. I’ve attached a photo of the opening. Hi all! I have a door, unsure wether it is the right size so will need to maybe be cut down. I have hinges and the handle needed.

Job is to swap back and re-hang the internal doors replacing the current fire doors. Including opening up a stud wall and putting double doors in the dining room. The doors are labelled as to which one goes in each room, so they should fit okay. These are the old doors originally present. So each of the doors will need to be re-fitted and all the doorways made good. Just as a note, some of the doorstops may need to be changed. With a few holes being filled where the door closers were. I would expect a job to take two days for someone that knows what they’re doing. Price is for labour happy to pay for any materials required.
