🔧 ROLLER SHUTTER REPAIR Looking for an experienced handyman or roller shutter technician to repair a motorised roller shutter that has partially failed. SITUATION: Large aluminium motorised roller shutter (approx 3m wide) over a window. The plastic axle end insert/bearing inside the barrel has disintegrated (30+ year old unit), causing the barrel to drop out of its end bracket. The shutter is currently stuck in the closed position and propped safely. WHAT'S NEEDED: • Remove old/broken plastic axle end insert from barrel • Supply and fit replacement octagonal axle insert with bearing (part identified — ~$35 from Shutter Masters AU, can order prior to job or tasker to supply) • Re-seat barrel correctly into end brackets • Test that shutter can be operated manually (motor assessment optional/secondary) • Re-rivet or screw housing lid back on SITE DETAILS: • Housing lid already removed (rivets drilled out) • Ladder access required — barrel is at eave height • Two people may be needed to lift and seat the barrel ( i can help with manual labour) IDEAL TASKER: Roller shutter technician, handyman with shutter experience, or capable general tradesperson. Electric roller shutter. Motor struggling to raise up shutter. I have removed the cover for inspection. No jam ups found. Shutter will raise up if assisted by lifting the weight of slats. Motor need replacement from the looks of it. Th window is around 2.6-2.8 meters wide. Install, supply all materials, and put up motor cover again.

The cord for the roller shutter has broken, and therefore the shutter is stuck covering the window and cannot be lowered or pulled up. Wanting a quote for repair or if not possible, quote for removal.

Hi, I’m looking for someone to fix and reinstall a manual window roller shutter/blind winder mechanism in 2 windows. The winder box has come apart from the wall and the internal parts (gear, spindle etc.) have come loose. The strap is still attached and running up into the wall, but the mechanism needs to be reassembled and securely mounted back onto the wall so the shutter/blind works properly again. Photos attached for reference. What’s needed: • Reassemble internal winder mechanism • Reattach and secure the unit to the wall • Ensure strap is working smoothly and winding correctly • Check everything is functioning properly I’m not sure if any replacement parts are needed ideally someone experienced with blinds/shutters or general handyman work. Flexible with timing but would like it done ASAP.

Roller shutter just makes noise when trying to close but doesn’t close anymore. Single story house.

My Roller shutter strap snapped. Need someone to replace this as I don't have the tools especially the rivet gun. If you have done this before, this may be for you.
