The Issue: The light timber veneer coating on top of one of our main customer display shelves has split, cracked, and lifted along the grain. This has created a sharp, jagged edge that poses a splinter. The Job: The task is to perform a professional, smooth, and durable repair on this timber surface. The scope of work includes: 1. Preparing the split area by removing any failed glue. 2. Re-adhering the lifted veneer flat against the substrate using a strong commercial adhesive/epoxy. 3. Filling any remaining cracks, splits, or voids with a matching light-coloured wood filler or tinted epoxy (to match the light white-washed oak wood grain finish). 4. Sanding the repair perfectly smooth and flush so there are absolutely no raised edges, splinters, or sharp spots. 5. Applying a clear seal or touch-up finish to blend the repaired patch with the surrounding shelf. Requirements: - MUST have experience with wood veneer repairs, cabinetry, or furniture restoration. - You must supply all your own tools and materials (filler, epoxy/glue, sandpaper, sealer). - Ability to deliver a smooth, safe, and cosmetically neat result in a customer-facing area. - Public liability insurance is required. We’re looking for an experienced cabinetmaker/joiner to create a built-in pantry and cabinetry around an existing freestanding fridge in our kitchen in Rushcutters Bay. We would like a tall pantry cupboard beside the fridge, cupboards above the fridge, finished side panels and a simple cornice/detail to the ceiling so the finished unit looks like built-in joinery. We like a simple panelled/Shaker-style door (inspiration photo attached) and are planning a warm off-white finish. We’re undertaking a cost-conscious cosmetic kitchen update, so we’re open to either: • custom-made joinery; or • IKEA METOD carcasses with custom fronts/panels and finishing details, depending on what you recommend and the relative cost. We are particularly looking for someone with cabinetry/joinery experience who can achieve a high-quality built-in finish. Please include examples/photos of similar work if possible. I need to fix up the top panels of my verandah fencing brought back to life. The panels have been exposed to the weather, so I guess they need a sand and revarnish to match colour of the rest of the fencing, which does not need anything done to it. I also need the two panels that have come loose to be nailed back in.

Replace timber panel and repair rotted timber on front fascia

I need a plywood panel cut to size to neatly cover the exposed section of floor shown in the photo. The existing white panel above the gap will be used for this. The surrounding timber flooring is not perfectly straight/square, so the panel needs to be carefully measured and cut to fit the actual shape of the opening with minimal gaps. There is also a cable coming up through the middle of the exposed area, so the panel will need a precisely positioned groove/channel or narrow cut-out to fit around the cable. Looking for someone experienced with accurate measuring and precision cutting/joinery who can achieve a clean, neat fit.

We've recently moved into a house where one section of wooden floorboards is coloured differently to the nearby sections. We would like that section of floor restained so that it better matches the rest of the house. We know it likely won't be possibly to perfectly match the colour - that's fine, we just want the difference to be less obvious. The area measures approximately 3.5m x 3.5m. We don't know what wood the floorboards are made of, nor what stains or products have been used. The house is from around 1900. We are seeking someone to: - Sand that area of floor back, - Stain the floorboards to better match the rest of the house, and - Apply a new topcoat. We will pay for the stain and top coat - but would appreciate your expertise to choose and purchase the right products to use, particularly to best match the colour. The house is currently empty so there's no furniture etc to work around. We will have some people painting the house at the same time but will make sure they are not in your way. Work can be carried out any time between Sat 15 Aug to Thu 20 Aug. There's free street parking outside and it's usually not difficult to find a spot.
