Location of the job is at Bell Street, Coburg. Hi there, I need some help to fix a damaged door at my daughters residence. Unfortunately due to a medical episode the fire brigade had to force entry to her home and this has resulted in a damaged door. I need to arrange for a carpenter or skilled handyman to repace an external door and repair the splintered part of a door jam which was damaged due to forced entry by the fire brigade. The existing passage door handle set and a dead lock need to be refitted in their original positions. The first 2 photos show the door prior to the damage taking place. These photos show the door handle and lock arrangement and how the repair needs to look once completed. The other 3 photos show the damage at present. The door is approx 810mm wide and 1830mm high. I plan to purchase a new pre-primed external door from bunnings 820mm x 2040mm which will need to be cut down top and side to the same size as the original door. I have the required colour matched paint and plan to look after the painting so if you can just quote for cutting the door to size, fitting the new door with existing hardware and repair the door jamb please. The jamb repair would require a section of timber to be removed (perhaps with a multitool) and replaced with a new section of timber and secured (nailed and glued) and if needed then sanded down to ensure a smooth finish ready for painting. The time to have this task completed is flexible but ideally in the next week to 10 days please. Please advise of your experience / expertise and your availability.
