Garage roller door motor grinding / stopping — service and quote for smart motor replacement I have an older B&D Roll-A-Door with a Firmamatic motor/opener. The garage door currently stops at certain sections, and at one point the motor makes a grinding noise. I live in a strata property, so I’m not looking to replace the whole garage door unless absolutely necessary. Ideally, I want someone experienced with roller doors to inspect and service the existing door first, then advise/quote on replacing the motor with a newer smart-compatible opener. Looking for someone to check: - Door balance and spring tension - Whether the roller door is binding or catching in the guides - Curtain alignment / tracks / brackets - Whether the existing motor is failing or being overloaded - Quote to replace the motor only with a smart-compatible roller door opener - Optional safety beams if recommended The goal is to keep the existing door and only replace the opener/motor if suitable. I need a security screen door installed. Another layer on the main door frame may need to be added for additional space to accommodate the new Door lock latch. For context, there was a security screen door already which was taken down to accommodate the new door lock. The latch of the door lock was preventing the screen from closing completely and hence was taken down. I need to either reinstall the same screen or a new one (from Bunnings) but will need to be on another layer of the door frame from the outside.

Door was accidentally pulled to close when in lock position and it’s cause the frame to crack. Budget is completely negotiable as I really don’t know what goes into fixing this.

I have a Merlin PowerAce garage door. Worked perfectly fine with a remote when i popped out last night - came back 10mins later and it wouldn’t open. I have tried with multiple remotes, have powered on and off, made sure manual release is not on. The unit makes one “tick” whenever the remote is pressed. Unit is 6 years old ish. Looking for someone to diagnose and ideally fix! Thanks!
