Need plumbing assistance with basin and waste, it is leaking.
$200
Maroubra NSW 2035, Australia
12th Aug 2026
I recently installed a new vanity and concrete basin, and changed the tapware and waste. After installation the waste is leaking from the bottom seal where it contacts the basin. I think the issue is because the basin hole underneath is an uneven rough surface it’s not sealing properly against the waste seal.

Unblock toilet. Work already done: Used a plunger to attempt to clear the blockage, unable to clear the toilet with plunger. Used a CCTV drain camera to inspect the piping, found 150mm terracotta main line all clear with no blockage. Tested other fixtures and junctions, only the toilet line is blocked. Work to be done: Need to excavate down onto the junction to remove the cement inspection opening for access, once the pipe is accessible use high pressure water jetting and other appropriate equipment to clear the blockage and test for correct operation/flow. Restore the inspection opening with lead and cement. Fill up hole with original soil. - Due date: Before Sunday, 10 December 2023

Recent Tap Washer Replacement tasks in Maroubra Junction
Replace tap washers and o-rings
$200
Maroubra NSW, Australia
17th May 2023
Hi Andrew, I have moved into a new place and found that nearly every tap is leaking. The tap isn't dripping, it appears that the leak is from water bypassing the o-ring. I have approximately 16 taps, including one mixer tap that require attention. I also require a dish washer to be connected. It requires a flexible hose to be attached to mains water, the drain to be attached and power. There is a power pint however a hole needs to be cut to pass all the hoses and power through. Finally, there is an exhaust fan/light in the laundry. The bearing is worn and the fitting or just the fan needs to be replaced. Regards, Brett
