I have purchased 2 slabs of 20mm Santorini Lithostone which needs to be cut and installed for a kitchen benchtop (sink and cooktop cut out) and a fireplace. The unit is located upstairs (one set of stairs in a two level low residential complex. The measurement details are: 2528x645mm sink piece (undermount sink cut out) 2134x645mm kitchen 1472x670mm kitchen 1427x255mm fire place The 2 slabs are located in Slacks Creek and would need to be picked up first for measurement cuts and transported to Hawthorne for installation. Refer to photos for dimensions and access to unit on second level.

We are looking for quotes to have someone come and build a fireplace housing unit (almost like a divider wall) and install a gas peninsula fireplace. This job would involve dealing with the gas piping (we have a gas stove and gas water heater a few metres away), any electrical wiring (there is a light switch panel super close by), building the divider wall/ fireplace housing unit, and installing the gas fireplace (needs to be up to code and safety rules). I have included an image of something very similar to what we were thinking of, and a picture of the room with notes on where we want it to go and where the gass and electrical elements are.

Ok, I need some help. I live in a unit which is nearly 100 years old & still has the original brick fireplace. The fireplace has been painted over & I would like to strip it back to bare brick & mortar. I had a little test go over the weekend as I firstly wanted to see what the brick work looked like, & the process wasn’t complex, it was just that a process. I applied a paint removing solution, left for 1 hour, scrapped / wire brushed off, & repeated. I would say it has been 10-15 years since it was last painted but there may be 3 or 4 layers of paint? Dimensions: FRONT: 1.65m Wide / 95cm Height SIDES (each): 48cm Wide / 95cm Height *Paint does not need to be removed from the fire place cavity itself (which measures 60cm x 60cm) as it will later have a heater installed. Items which you may need to have / provide? - Drop sheet to lay on & protect carpet around the area - Some wide masking tape or painters’ tape to tape the skirting board at the bottom & mantle at the top. Both the skirting board & mantle will be painted at some point so I am not overly concerned about those areas - Gloves - Face mask - Wire brushes - Metal paint scraper - Product to remove the paint I can be fleixible with when the task is completed but it would need to be during the week (Mon-Fri) & not in the evenings, or before 8.00am as I have 2 little people which would just get in the way.

Looking for an experienced handyman/tradie to create a fireplace hearth from tiles. Would require some carpet removal, cement sheeting base layer, tiling and a finished edge. We will cover the cost of materials required separately.

My fireplace flue has developed a leak. It could be movement outside from the recent wind that has caused it.

Old fire place was covered over with plaster and 600 square tiles we want to put it back to the old fire place on both sides of the lounge , want tiles and plaster removed. Also the chimney is blocked off on top of roof needs to be reopened will need harness to climb on roof
