The signage installer service includes putting the sign together, placing it in the right position and angle, and ensuring that it lights up (if it is a lighted sign). 

Whether it’s polished metal signage, soft signage, parking lot sign, neon or other types, a handyman can install them for you. Do note not all of them will be able to install signs that require a cherry-picker or crane.

Signage assembly & mounting

Most signages come unassembled or require some assembly when they arrive from the fabricator or manufacturer. Signage installers can assemble your signages then mount them where you want. They can mount your signages and ensure that the bolts, screws, brackets or other anchors are correctly installed and tightly fastened.

Installing and connecting wiring

For neon signages, LED or other illuminated signages, some signage installers can perform simple electrical wiring if these aren’t pre-assembled. Some handymen can do the wire splicing and soldering components or connections. Note that for some types of signs, the needed components like power transformers aren’t included. Taskers can offer to buy these for you if you don’t have these parts.    

Testing the lighting

Once assembled with their wiring completed, installers can test the illuminated signs. This step ensures that the wiring is correct and that there are no issues (like voltage drop or power surge arise).

Checking the lighted signs is also part of a safety measure; handymen can inspect the wires for melting or discolouration, then make the needed fixes to prevent a potential fire hazard.

Finishing touches

After mounting, your handyman can wipe clean signages made of aluminium or other metals. These types of signs can be full of fingerprints or accumulate dirt on them during transit, assembly or installation. 

As a finishing touch, they use a mild soap or the appropriate non-toxic cleaners to remove any dirt and fingerprints. Some handymen may offer to use metal polish to bring out the shine of your metal signs.
