move wood from basement to ground floor. So I have about 150 pieces of wood 100cm by 10cmx10cm 50 of these have become water damaged and need to bring them upstairs for recycle company to take them. Would anyone be willing to do this to be paid in wood. the wood is srilankan satinwood which has been banned for export. I was looking to pay someone £20 an hour to move as much as they could in 3 hours, but would anyone be interested in getting 2 good pieces of wood per hour? We need 1 desk and 3 side shelving units building in 18mm birch ply in an office on Old Street. We have the ply, rail saw, orbital sander, tools and fixings. We can provide printed plans and cutting lists. The items will be simply screwed together with angle brackets or screwed from the underside where not visible, then varnished in a coat of matt water based varnish. We have a clear day on Tuesday (20th) so ideally we'd get most or all of the parts cut and sanded on that day. On the Wednesday we would ideally be assembling and varnishing them. I will also be there to assist with the work. The quoted budget is for both days. We would ideally work from 9 to 5 and can run over if needed/desired (for additional charge of course).
