Remove old hood, this is currently hard wired to the house electrics, with the mains wire visible in the cabinet above the hood. CLEARANCE FROM THE CURRENT HOB BURNER PLATES TO THE NEW HOOD NEEDS TO BE 78cm OR MORE. Fit new mains power socket to the top right of the current hood cabinet space in a waterproof way. The current cabinet above the hood needs to be shortened in height by about 20cm (from the bottom half). If this is not possible, or too expensive, removing the top cabinet all together would be acceptable (without damaging the cabinets to the left and right). Then install the new "Firegas hood", which has a cable that needs to be plugged into the new mains socket you will have installed into the space above the cabinet.
