There are no electrical wires or plumbing behind the damaged area. There is no stud directly behind the hole, so suitable timber backing or support may need to be installed. The work required includes: – Cutting out and removing all loose and damaged plasterboard – Installing suitable timber backing/support – Installing a new plasterboard patch of the correct thickness – Applying joint tape and plaster compound – Applying enough coats to achieve a proper finish – Sanding the repaired area smooth and flush with the surrounding wall – Leaving the wall clean and ready for primer and painting No priming or painting is required.
