Window flyscreen installations

If they’re re-meshing your flyscreen, your installer will start by using a brush to dust any dirt and cobwebs off the mesh and frame, before removing the entire frame to a flat surface. Next, they’ll poke a screwdriver into the frame’s corners to ease out the spline (a long rubber cord that locks the screen in place) and remove the old mesh. Then they’ll unroll the new flyscreen and lay it over the top of the frame, leaving a 10cm overhang. They’ll use a roller to push the spline back in place, locking in the fresh flyscreen mesh. Your installer will remove the door frame and lay it flat before rolling out the new flyscreen mesh over the top. They’ll secure the mesh around the edges using a long spline before trimming, then re-fitting your door. It’s worth mentioning that you can choose from a variety of mesh types, including fibreglass mesh (most common and low-cost), pet-proof mesh, aluminium mesh (extra strong), and even one-way mesh (for privacy).
