I am looking for an experienced handyman or carpenter to help finish off the wall and framing around a recently installed door. There are a few specific tasks required to make the area look seamless and finished on the inside. Tasks include: 1. Adjusting Metal Casing: There is a metal track/casing housing a garage door weight that sticks out too far. This needs to be shaved down or pushed in so it doesn't protrude. 2. MDF Extension: Once the casing is adjusted, I need MDF installed to extend the wall to the new door frame. This MDF needs to run all the way from the top down to the floor. 3. Adding Insulation: There is an exposed cavity at the top of the door frame that is missing insulation. Insulation needs to be inserted into this top gap. 4. Gap Filling: All remaining gaps along the top and the side between the new door frame and the wall need to be filled in completely. 5. Skirting Board Touch-up: The baseboard/skirting on the adjacent wall near the floor is messy. This small section needs to be replaced or sanded and painted to look clean. 6. Painting: After all the construction is complete, the new MDF extension and all patched/filled areas need to be primed and painted to match the existing wall color and finish seamlessly. Notes: - There are some exposed cables/wires that need to be safely tucked into the cavity behind the new MDF. - Offer should include all materials, labour to complete the job. I have attached detailed photos of the space to give a clear understanding of the job. Timeline: Ideally looking to get this done as soon as possible. I have two mirrors. Screws into a brick wall so I can hang the mirrors. 35 x 120 cms each mirror. Frame is wooden so relatively heavy. You need the right size screw. The mirrors have a hanging loop.

Door not latching properly — needs adjustment/repair One of the bedroom doors doesn’t latch properly when closed. You have to push/slam it quite hard for the latch bolt to catch the strike plate (the silver metal plate on the door frame). The door appears to be misaligned/ tilted?! Maybe the frame has shifted or the hinges need adjusting, causing the latch and strike plate to no longer line up. Looking for someone to assess the cause and fix it, whether that’s adjusting the hinges, repositioning the strike plate. Property is in Fitzroy, Melbourne. Happy to discuss before booking.

We're looking for someone to remove the black privacy screening currently attached to the upper-level windows of our building (see photos). The screening doesn't need to be unscrewed or dismantled. We're happy for it to simply be cut away neatly, leaving a clean and tidy finish. We'll also need all removed material taken away and disposed of at the end of the job. The building is located in Fitzroy, Melbourne. Appropriate equipment (tall ladder) will be required to safely access the windows. The top is about 6m high. Need help diagnosing and setting up garage roller door opener. We recently moved into a house and were not provided with a garage remote. The roller door currently opens and closes manually only. There is a flashing yellow light on the unit and a few buttons, so it appears to have power, but pressing the buttons does not operate the door.
