Window not closing

£100

Finsbury Park, Greater London, N4

23rd Apr 2025

I'm posting a small job here. One of the windows is not closing properly. I'm fairly sure that a small part of the opening mechanism—possibly a screw—has come loose and fallen off. As a result, the window now hangs slightly downward when opened and cannot be closed properly. I've attached a picture of the opposite window, which is a mirror image of the damaged one. The missing part has come off the upper section of the closing mechanism. It is possible that the upper hinge needs to be replaced.

Elhad did a very good job with my window!

Window frame repair: replace rotten wood and re-putty and paint.

£500

Upper Tooting, Greater London

22nd Apr 2025

Remove Rotten Wood: Carefully remove the rotten wood from the window frames. Prepare the Area: Clean the area thoroughly to remove any debris or old putty. Ensure the surface is dry and free of dust or grease. Apply Putty: Use a suitable putty to fill in any gaps or cracks. Mix the putty until it is uniform and apply it to the damaged area, shaping it to fit the window frame. Secure the Battens: If the battens need to be replaced, you can use epoxy putty to bond it back to the frame. Press the putty into the wall and frame, shaping it to recreate the form of the window. Paint Over: Once the putty is dry, paint over it to match the existing wood. This will help protect the new putty and provide a seamless look. We will need a thorough repair to ensure the window is secure and weatherproof. The window sill at the front need repainting too but this can be a separate job if needed

Window not closing

£60

Finsbury Park, Greater London, N4

20th Apr 2025

I'm posting a small job here. One of the windows is not closing properly. I'm fairly sure that a small part of the opening mechanism—possibly a screw—has come loose and fallen off. As a result, the window now hangs slightly downward when opened and cannot be closed properly. I've attached a picture of the opposite window, which is a mirror image of the damaged one. The missing part has come off the upper section of the closing mechanism. You will need a ladder that can reach the first floor to do the job. If you have the right part to fix it, it shouldn't take more than 15 minutes.
