I have a wooden sash window that keeps falling forward into the living room. The window slides up and down with no problem , but the part of the frame that stops it falling forward has been damaged (somone tugged the window forwards, not upwards!) and there is a gash that causes rthe window to fall forwards. I am looking for someone to mend the frame so the window does not fall forward anymore. I will attach some photos that show the gash. Tools: Screwdriver T15. Screwdriver for slotted screws. Cordless screwdriver with bit PZ2. 1)Remove side frame covers both sides & lift rubber caps. 2) twist off spring cover. 3)disengage springs on both sides & remove window sash.4)remove the long screw that secures the spring on the top. 5)remove the old spring.
