I’m looking for a handyman or carpenter to install attractive vertical privacy screening over two existing chain-link fence sections along one side of my garage in Clovelly. The aim is to conceal the neighbouring garage and improve the appearance of the space. I’d like a neat, contemporary finish, preferably vertical battens in charcoal, black or dark grey. Dimensions: • Section 1: 190 cm high × 172 cm wide • Section 2: 190 cm high × 154 cm wide • Total width to be screened: 326 cm • The sections are separated by a projecting brick pillar, which does not need to be covered. Preferred materials and finish: I’ve been looking at Ekodeck vertical batten panels (180 × 60 cm) from Bunnings, but I’m open to similar-looking alternatives, particularly if they’re more economical or easier to install. The screening doesn’t need to cover every centimetre of the fence. Small gaps around the edges or at the top/bottom are fine. The priority is a tidy, attractive finish that provides reasonable visual privacy. Existing structure and installation requirements: The chain-link fencing has a substantial metal perimeter frame, with vertical posts at either end of each section, but no intermediate horizontal supports. Importantly, the metal fence and frame are common property and must not be drilled into, cut, damaged or permanently altered. However, fixings can be drilled into the brickwork within my garage if needed. Ekodeck panels require supporting rails, so some additional timber framing may be necessary. I’m happy to consider a simple, economical timber support structure, or another installation method that doesn’t damage the existing fence. What I’m looking for: Someone who can recommend a practical, cost-effective solution, source or advise on suitable materials, and complete the installation. I’d appreciate quotes that distinguish between labour and materials.

I have a Coolaroo Fairhaven Gazebo. My installer did not properly put in the privacy screen, as it was not going up and down properly (not rolling all the way down to the bottom). And now I cannot reach them anymore and I need to fix this. May be related to two issues: the privacy screen not installed correctly, and/or the front posts are not completely vertically aligned. I am looking for someone to either install properly the privacy screen on the front (ideally), or move it to the back side, where the posts are vertically aligned correctly. Note: The screws thread that hold the screen attached to the top may be worn and you need to remove the screws and replace with other screws. The photos show the privacy screen, and the side channels (currently unmounted on the deck). These need to be mounted to the side of the posts, so the screen slides through the channel. Also the side board on the deck (the one close to the fence) has not been 100% properly screwed in, and needs to be attached properly. (the space to put in screws is tight given the fence on the right, but fence can be removed if that is the easiest).

This job involves attaching 5 privacy screens on the decking near the boundary fence. The decking has a balustrade however a frame will need to be attached to it first to keep the screens securerly in place.
