Configure home WiFi network for seamless roaming (single SSID)

$10

Hardys Bay NSW 2257, Australia

18th Apr 2026

I have a Telstra Gen 4 modem/router plus two wall-mounted WiFi booster discs at separate locations in my home. Currently each unit broadcasts under a different network name, meaning devices don’t automatically hand off — you have to manually switch WiFi logins as you move around. I need someone to reconfigure the setup so all three units broadcast the same SSID and password, creating a single seamless network. When I walk from room to room, my devices should connect automatically without any manual switching. The work involves: • Accessing the Telstra modem/router admin settings • Reconfiguring the booster discs to operate in access point mode (or enabling roaming/mesh mode if supported) • Testing that devices roam seamlessly between zones Must be comfortable with Telstra home network equipment. Happy to be present throughout. The goal is one WiFi name, one password, whole home covered. Just to be clear job must be performed on April 24 and no other day. The house is a weekender and I am not able to send pics but I believe the extenders are Ubiquiti boosters that were circa 2020 / 2021 models. This is a reprogramming task that an experienced tech should be able to handle without pics and I don't anticipate it taking more than an hour. There are 2 remote extenders which are on separate logins to the modem. I just need a single login. A Somfy guy who worked on some blinds said it was a simple reprogram which he was going to do but ran out of time.

$150

Old Guildford NSW, Australia

12th Apr 2026

The problem: Internet speed is fast (300–750 Mbps), but performance is inconsistent Frequent lag and poor quality on Microsoft Teams/video calls Dropouts and unstable connection, especially under load Mobile hotspot works perfectly (no lag), so issue seems local network-related Test results: Bufferbloat grade: D Latency increases significantly under load (+200ms) Ping is stable when idle (~4–7ms), but spikes during usage Current setup: Main house + granny flat setup TP-Link Archer A72 router Secondary router/access point in granny flat Laptop uses WiFi (WiFi 6/7 capable adapter) Speeds are actually higher in granny flat (~500–600 Mbps) than main house (~300–400 Mbps) What’s already been tried: Router reset and reconfiguration Adjusted WiFi settings (channels, bandwidth, etc.) Updated laptop network adapter settings Disabled Killer network prioritisation software Tested multiple speed tests and latency tests Internet works fine via hotspot (indicating router/network issue) What I need: Diagnose and fix bufferbloat / latency spikes Optimise router settings (QoS, traffic shaping, etc.) Review overall network setup (main house + granny flat) Ensure stable connection for video calls (Teams/Zoom) Improve WiFi performance in main house Optional: advise on best setup (Ethernet vs mesh vs access point) Goal: Stable internet (no lag or dropouts) Consistent low latency under load Reliable video calls without issues

Fix Google wifi mesh home network

$125

Coogee NSW 2034, Australia

27th Nov 2025

Our home internet keeps dropping out intermittently across the whole house. NBN (iiNet) to the modem is working fine, but our Google WiFi mesh system (shown in the photo) seems to be the issue. We have multiple Google WiFi points across a three-storey, double-brick home, and devices often lose connection for ~10 seconds at a time before reconnecting. We need someone experienced with Google WiFi mesh networks to: • Diagnose why our Google WiFi points are failing or dropping • Check configuration, placement, or any faulty units • Restore stable, consistent internet across all floors Experience with mesh networks / Google WiFi is essential.

Super personable and efficient. Clearly knows his stuff and provided several options to fix the problem.
