I'm replacing an old internal passage door knob and have already removed the existing knobs, spindle, fixing plates and screws. The old 70 mm backset latch is still inside the timber door and I haven’t been able to remove it. The latch moves freely towards the edge of the door, but fixed metal/brass projections on the latch body prevent it from passing through the existing edge bore. I don’t want to force it or damage/enlarge the door unnecessarily. I’m looking for someone experienced with door hardware/older Gainsborough-style latches who can: • Safely remove the remaining old latch mechanism without damaging the door • Install my supplied new 70 mm Gainsborough passage latch • Install my supplied Delf Marbella passage knob set using the supplied/compatible spindle I already have • Check the existing strike alignment and adjust only if required • Make sure the knob turns smoothly and the door opens, closes and latches correctly The door already has an approximately 54 mm face bore and 25 mm edge bore, with a 70 mm backset. All new hardware is already supplied. Ideally looking for an experienced handyman, carpenter or locksmith who is comfortable removing older door hardware and can complete the installation neatly without unnecessarily enlarging or damaging the existing door

I have a door into a room that isn’t closing properly. Just need it fixed to ensure it stays closed.

Hi, I need help fixing 3 internal door handles/locks. * Two of the doors have the locking screw/pin missing, so the privacy lock is not working. * One door handle/lock also appears loose/damaged and may need repair. * I have already purchased one new replacement handle set (shown in the photos). I’m not sure whether the existing handles need to be completely replaced or whether they can simply be repaired and the missing locking screws/pins replaced. I’d prefer to keep the existing handles if they can be fixed. Please inspect them and advise what is required. If replacement is necessary, the new handle set I have can be used for one of the doors. We have recently installed new carpet, which is slightly thicker than the previous carpet. As a result, three internal doors are now rubbing against the carpet and need to be trimmed slightly at the bottom. Please provide separate quotes for: 1. Trimming/cutting the bottom of all three doors only; and 2. Removing, trimming and reinstalling all three doors. There are 4 internal doors that need adjusting so the latch fully recedes. Currently the doors all open but are somewhat difficult to open quietly. Adjust 2 hinges on Kitchen pantry door which have come off.

Hi there, The top hinge on one of my internal doors has come loose because the screws have stripped out of the frame. The door is currently sagging and won't latch properly. To save us both some questions, here are a few quick details: Door Type: Standard internal hollow/solid core wooden door with a standard metal hinge. The Issue: The screw holes in the jamb are maybe stripped or come out, so it likely needs longer screws, wood plugs/dowels, or wood filler so the screws can bite again. I'm not 100% on issue but video below. Tools/Materials: I don't have the specific longer screws or wood filler on hand, so you'll need to bring your own standard toolkit and fixings. I'm not handy. Details: The Hardware: I have already purchased and supplied the new hardware (Lockwood 31-55mm Satin Chrome Entrance Levers). They are brand new and on-site ready to go. The Scope: The doors already have standard handle cutouts which should closely align with the new Lockwood levers. However, I need you to check the fitment first. If they don't line up perfectly, you will need to slightly widen or adjust the existing timber holes/latches so the new hardware sits flush and operates smoothly. Tools needed: Please bring your standard tools, along with a chisel, files, or a drill/hole saw kit just in case minor timber adjustments or latch recess tweaks are required.
