I have hooked up an Onkyo hifi receiver to my laptop via a 3.5mm cable to 2 RCA. Speakers are connected, 3.5mm end is plugged into headphone jack on laptop, and input source is correctly chosen but audio still plays through laptop speakers and not via the amp. Also checked audio settings through control panel with no luck.

Replace broken charging port on msi katana gf66 laptop

The sims 1 CDs were designed to operate off the discs on older windows systems. I can install the base game and have used a patch to be able to open the game. I haven't successfully been able to install the expansions as it wants to uninstall the entire game after installing off the disc. This is due to "safe disc" no longer part of later windows systems including windows 7. I need someone that understands exactly what I have said and will not experiment with fixing it. All I am after is someone who KNOWS what they are doing. It should be a quick fix.
