I'm having floorboards (laminate or hybrid - TBC) installed in an apartment over existing tiles and in place of carpets. I have a 30 square meter Studio apartment in Surry Hills that I want to replace the laminate flooring. I already have the new laminate floorboards that I want, so this job is to install the new floorboards. The apartment is a standard layout with no curved walls, though one wall sits at 45 degrees and there are some nooks around the wardrobe area. I get the keys on the 23rd and would ideally like to have the flooring installed asap. If you need to see the place properly before hand I am able to open up for measuring on a weekday, but we can't start works before then. Please note: There is currently linoleum on the floor and I'm not sure what is underneath.. the only problem is the aluminium door, I think that possibly if we lay anything thicker than lino that the door will have a problem going over it.. I'm happy to have a work around and just leave the space under the door a different flooring that can blend in, it's only the entrance door.

Looking for an experienced flooring professional to help acoustically treat my 2 bedroom apartment. The job has two parts: Consultation: I need your expert advice on the best type of acoustic underlay to use. I've been researching options like Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV), which seems like the best option but I'm open to your recommendations for the most effective solution for my space. Installation: Once we agree on the best materials, the main task is to install the underlay throughout my apartment (approx. 78sqm2). I will most likely supply underlay. The existing floor will already be removed. I'm looking for someone with proven experience in acoustic treatments who can provide advice and deliver a high-quality installation. Another layer of underlay as well as the floor covering will later be installed by another supplier. Look forward to hearing from you.
