I need a licensed flooring/carpet layer to complete a small half-day job in an apartment unit in Rosebery (2018). I need a fixed quote for labor + materials (Supply & Install). Job Details: Area: 1 straight hallway (5.7m long x 0.96m wide = approx. 5.5 sqm). Current Floor: Solid timber flooring (laid horizontally) that buckles badly when it rains due to an uneven concrete subfloor. New Floor: Solution Died Nylon (SDN) carpet with a tight loop pile (highly stain-resistant) OR Commercial-grade Cushion-Backed Carpet Tiles. (Looking for neutral colors like Charcoal, Grey, or Oatmeal/Beige). Scope of Work Required: Removal: Lift up and dispose of the existing timber flooring in the hallway. (No major concrete leveling needed, as a good underlay or cushion-backed carpet tile will handle the slight subfloor unevenness). Installation: Supply and install a high-density, sound-absorbing underlay (good for Strata acoustic compliance) and carpet, OR supply and install cushion-backed carpet tiles. (Note: Since the area is only 5.5 sqm, I am highly open to using high-quality carpet remnants/off-cuts if you have any in stock to save costs). Transition Bars / Trims: Supply and install 6 transition trims in total to create a clean, flush finish where the hallway carpet meets adjacent rooms: At 3 bedroom doorways (joining carpet to remaining timber inside rooms). At 1 guest toilet doorway (near the middle). At 1 main bathroom doorway (at the very end of the hallway). At 1 open kitchen entry (joining carpet to kitchen tiles/flooring with a clean, moisture-resistant finish). Requirements for Strata Approval: Must hold a valid NSW Contractor Licence / Carpentry Licence. Must have Public Liability Insurance. Must be able to provide a formal invoice/quote for Strata. There is a timber board as seen in the attached photo , that has twisted and no longer level resulting in an uneven surface when walking over as well as an unsightly appearance. The boards used are • TREX Composite Decking – 140mm x 25mm decking boards

Budget is flexible. A timber flooring ‘expert’ came to polish my floors but messed up an entire panel. Looking for quotes to fix it and get the timber flooring guy to pay for it. Only got him to stain it because he said it would make it look better but it still looks horrendous.
