The property is in a brand-new building 5-6 years old and the unit has been vacant. The electricity has been disconnected for more than 3 months because there was no active electricity account. I contacted EnergyAustralia and they advised that, because the property has been disconnected for more than 3 months, an electrician needs to inspect the property and complete/sign the required Ausgrid form before reconnection. There are no known electrical or wiring issues and the property previously had power. This should just be a standard inspection and completion of the required form. Dishwasher has developed an electrical fault. After the circuit breaker tripped, we reset the breaker and heard a loud electrical buzzing/sparking sound coming from inside the dishwasher. One black power outlet appears to be loose and damaged. It has opened up and damaged inside and I’m not using it as it may be unsafe. 2. 4 downlights are not working. These are old halogen downlights, and the issue is likely a faulty transformer or possibly something wrong with the wiring/cable. The task is to fix the lights by replacing the transformer, or replacing/repairing any other parts if the transformer is not the cause of the issue. For example, this may involve changing to LED compatible transformers or replacing the existing halogen transformers. Please note that I don’t want to change them to plug-in LED downlight kit, as the look and brightness will be different from the existing lights.
