I have an old hard drive, I think it may even be slightly toast. I took it to a computer shop though, and the guy there said the information on it was salvageable. Except he charged me what felt like an extortionate price. Just need some help to hopefully get some old pictures off this hard drive, as I have no other way of accessing those memories!

I've bought a new iMac for my husband. I didn't realise he was using so much data, (1.3Tb) I did a clean up and it was only back ups on the iMac. The problem is I cannot delete the backups. I empty the recycle bin and they stay there. I have restored the old computer from the time capsule but it's still there, I used Terminal to do a force delete which did nothing everything is backed up to external hard drives and time capsule. the essential part of restoring the new computer from the back up is that my husband is a musician and writes and produces music and uses a program that cannot be reinstalled on the new computer due to various reasons. When cleaning the computer I got it down to 320Gb but the main back ups using most of data still wont delete. If anyone cal help fix this please let me know, ive included pictures below of old computer new computer and issues .

My email host is closing their server at midnight tonight (June 30). I have transferred my email (which is attached to my domain) to Gmail, however I have not migrated my old emails yet. Mac expert: We have an external hard drive that was used as a backup for a MacBook Pro. We are having difficulty opening files from the backup done on 2023 (Photos) on the hard drive. Could be the MacBook Pro needs updated to access them on the hard drive or maybe the hard drive needs some type of update? Anyway wee can't get at the 2023 & 2024 photos on the Time Machine external hard drive back up & need to. I'm sureties a quick jib for someone in the know. MacBook Pro 15 inch from 2019. Must be done at the location in Mosman & not remotely.
