I was trying to copy files from an external hard drive to another external hard drive. Instead of selecting all of the files and choosing 'option copy' I chose the external hard drive in the left sidebar of the finder menu and hit 'option copy' from there. Then the external hard drive no longer showed up. I removed the USB-C cable and ejected it improperly. Now the hard drive will not mount and I need the files on it. - Due date: Flexible

I have a full back up of my 12 yo Dell (Windows Vista) on a Seagate hard drive. The backup appears to be uncorrupted, but I can't restore the back up to the laptop (because it doesn't let me set up my profile settings). All I want to recover are the photos and videos and upload them to the Cloud - but they seem to be scattered throughout the 200 backup files on the hard drive. I just need help to access and save them.

Need to back-up all files and photos in i-photo from old iMac. Computer turns on after a lot of attempts, but was damaged from power surge. Only 1 of 2 memory slots working. Hi all I am a Mac user who wants to set up a Synology DS418Play with 4 ports and 4X 2TB drives. I want to be able to back up all my data, access movies on iphone/ipad through Plex and install 4 ethernet 1080p cameras and access my computer from wherever. I live in a 2 level home and the main computer is upstairs. There are also 3 laptops in use (WiFi) and 2 ipads. I want to ensure the hardware I buy is suitable and compatable with the current router.
