My pull-down attic ladder (spring-loaded, folding type) won't close. The hatch no longer latches. I think one of the side springs or bolts has come loose, so the ladder now sits slightly crooked and the hatch can't lock shut. I'm looking for someone who has worked with attic ladders to: • Work out what's loose or out of alignment (spring, hinge bolt or arm) • Re-secure or replace the faulty part so the ladder folds and closes properly • Check that the ladder is safe to use afterwards Please bring basic tools. The budget covers labour only. If a part needs replacing, I'll pay for it separately, but please confirm the cost with me before you buy anything. Photos are attached. In terms of a ladder, we were looking at a model similar to 700x1200 2.8m Performance Nordic Pine (LWK (STD) 280 and would source this directly. Our ceilings are 2.8m.
