Hi, I’ve recently moved into a new property (about 3 months ago) and I’m having trouble connecting my washing machine hose to the tap. The tap is smaller than the washing machine hose connector, and I’ve been told this size is now standard in newly built homes. I’ve received a couple of suggestions on how to fix this — one is to use a reducing bush to connect to the tap, and the other is to get a different hose that fits both the washing machine and the tap. I’m not sure which option is best, so I’m looking for someone with experience (maybe a plumber or handyman) who can help me sort this out so my family and I can start using our washing machine instead of paying to use a laundromat.
