The door and existing sliding mechanism are all there and were working correctly before it was removed. The job is essentially to correctly re-engage/rehang the door onto the existing track and make sure it is sliding properly again. Friends have attempted to put it back but, due to the weight of the door and the mechanism, I need someone who has actual experience installing or repairing large sliding doors. The door is quite heavy, so you may need a second person to assist with lifting it into position. This is urgent and must be completed by Monday at 3pm at the latest. The screw holes are completely ruined because who ever did it last time drilled the holes to wide, or something. I have tried longer screws, plugs, everything and nothing is working. So I need a handyman to come and take the door off , and move the top hinge placement so that it’s in a new spot on the wall and the screws will stay in the door frame. Going to put a price up but I’m negotiable. Just can’t do an absurd amount. Needs to be done by wed as we have an inspection.

I’ve recently had a panel lift/sectional garage door retrofitted to my garage in Carindale. Because the garage wasn’t originally set up for this type of door, there weren’t suitable fixing points in the ceiling where the installer needed to attach the overhead tracks/brackets. The garage door company is coming back to rectify the installation, but before they return I’d like suitable structural fixing points installed above the ceiling. There is good access to the roof/ceiling space via a manhole, with plenty of room to work. I’m looking for an experienced carpenter/framer who can assess the existing roof/ceiling framing and install appropriate timber blocking/noggins or other suitable structural framing at the required locations, so the garage door installer has solid fixing points for their brackets. I can provide photos and indicate where the garage door brackets/fixing points need to be located. Location: Carindale, QLD Timing: Ideally completed before the garage door company returns. The Issue: The aluminium bottom floor guide bracket for the sliding door leading into our staff room has pulled out of the floor/frame. The screw holes have stripped, so the existing screws will not hold. Without this guide, the door sways and does not slide properly along its track. The Job: The task is to securely re-mount the floor guide bracket. The scope of work includes: 1. Inspecting the mounting location and clearing any loose debris/timber shavings. 2. Plugging/repairing the stripped screw holes or drilling fresh fixing points into the floor/frame. 3. Securely re-fastening the existing aluminium guide bracket back into place using appropriate heavy-duty screws/anchors. 4. Aligning the sliding door within the guide channel and testing it to ensure smooth, stable opening and closing. Note: The existing aluminium bracket and screws have been kept aside (as shown in the photos).
