The work should require: Remove the interior staff bead (thin strip of wood on the left side holding the lower sash in place) Take out the bottom sash carefully — lift it slightly, tilt it forward, and rest it down Open the access pocket on the side of the window frame (small painted-over panel about 10–15 cm tall, held by one or two screws) Retrieve the counterweight and attach a new sash cord (cotton or waxed nylon) Thread the new cord over the pulley wheel, reattach it to the sash, and rebalance both sides The window and glass are intact; it just needs the cord mechanism repaired and adjusted. Stiff pocket door may have loose hinges or faulty track, it will close and open but it needs to be lifted and slid. It was installed circa 2007
