Need to install an IKEA light fitting on the ceiling. You will need to provide your own ladder and be a qualified electrician. Should only take a few minutes. I'd do it myself if it wasn't illegal!

Wires have become disconnected in the cord of a lamp just before the plug. So I think I just need the plug cut off and the wires reconnected then put the plug back on. But hey, I’m not an electrician! It looks like a pretty simple repair tho
